Wheel Motor Project.
There are a number of challenges in the design of hub motor systems, one of which is vehicle control and dynamics, in addition to fast torque response and the ability to generate motor brakes. Other challenges are related to the optimization of regenerative braking systems, which requires detailed studies and trade-offs in terms of performance and cost/complexity. Another challenging research topic is the torque vectoring through each wheel to improve the dynamic performance of the vehicle. This project will improve the overall performance of hub motor electric vehicles by improving the electric drive unit (energy storage system, motor, inverter) and the electric auxiliary system (inverter, EPS, charger), as well as the innovative design of independent torque control for each wheel, to better meet the market requirements and advance their commercialization.
